Leica ll (D)- NO Serial Number
This is a Leica ll (D) w/o slow speeds, however there's a slow speed "plug" on the front, has strap lugs, top speed is 1/500, strangely there's an engraved slot next to the 500 setting on the speed dial where the 1/1000th speed would normally be on a llla. Not only is there no serial # on the top plate, there's no serial # inside the camera as seen & compared in photos with other cameras that have serial #s. I showed these photos to Jim Lager (top Leica Historian), he & I both agreed that this camera was probably made right after WWll by someone working at Leitz using spare parts in order to make a camera for himself to either use or sell. First time I've seen a camera like this. Just overhauled.
