Q: When I send in a repair should I have a note in w/the item in the package?
A: YES, of course have a note, in fact, have a good large cover letter in with your camera or lens explaining everything along with all of your contact info.
Q: When I pack up my camera or lens should I first wrap bubble wrap around the item & then wrap a ton of clear packing tape all around it as if I never want you to be able to open it up?
A: NO--- Don't use any clear wrapping tape around your camera or lens, wrap the item with bubble wrap & then use a couple of rubber bands. If you don't have rubber bands use tape but very sparingly.
Q: When I send you a repair can I just say "Please do what we talked about on the phone 3 weeks ago?
A: Of course not, I can't remember what we talked about, write it down on a large cover letter.
Q: Can I call you about once a week & ask you camera questions & then just continue to talk to you for about 20 minutes?
A: Please don't call me just to talk about cameras. I already have a wife to do that with. That's one of the reasons I'm so far behind on repairs (talking to you on the phone, not because of my wife).
Q: Can I email you at least once a week asking camera questions?
A: I get WAY too many emails ever day. Please don't email unless it has to do something about buying camera items on my website or repairs.
Q: Can I come over to drop off a repair & then talk to you for about an hour?
A: No, we do not accept repairs to be dropped off, you need to ship all repairs to the address on this website.
Q: I noticed that your repair-shop is not located in Oregon, Wi. but in Fitchburg, WI. What's up with that?
A: Actually, you're right, we're located in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, just North of Oregon, WI. Since Fitchburg does not have a Post Office we can use Oregon, WI. as our city because our mail comes out of the city of Oregon. At times Fed Ex will indicate that from our zip code you need to use Fitchburg, if this happens then please use Fitchburg as our City. The reason why I prefer using Oregon as our city is that its much easier to spell and I have to give out our shipping address quite often. Feel free to use Fitchburg as our city.
Q: If I get a complete overhaul on my Leica M3 camera does that include the rangefinder adjustment?
A: I don't get it. Why do you even have to ask this question? A complete overhaul means a COMPLETE overhaul, everything would be completely overhauled and since the rangefinder inside the camera is part of the camera then of course the rangefinder will be completely overhauled during a complete overhaul to your camera.
