The glass pressure plate in the early M3 cameras caused static from the film rubbing on the glass pressure plate as seen in first photo. For a very short while, Leitz milled slots/gaps in the early M3 glass pressure plate to reduce static build up as seen in 2nd photo. Once they changed to a black aluminum pressure plate the static problem improved. Plus, the glass pressure plates cracked easily. I can convert the glass pressure plate to the common black aluminum plate in the early M3 cameras.
