How are you testing lenses?

Everyone seems to test lens focus by focusing down on a test pattern which is not how most photos are taken. Take a look at photo attached- I used the yellow scale, I was the same height as the sale, I focused on the red #64-yellow scale, 6 feet away from the #64 at a 45 degree angle to the scale, used a Summilux-M 1.4/50mm lens, set at f-1.4. You can CLEARLY see that the lens is slightly front focusing by about 1/2 inch because the scale is in INCHES. If you move the arrow over the photo you can enlarge it.
